Creating Cool Things with Knitting
74Knitting Basics
Creating cool things from knitting
Knitting is a great hobby. It is relaxing. Plus, it is useful.
When knitting you can create things your family needs such as sweaters or gloves. You can also create unique presents when knitting that you can give your friends and other family members. Many of these types of presents are inexpensive to create and are very appreciated once given.
It isn't that hard to come up with unique and cool knitting projects. Actually, there are a number of resources that can help you find your next project.
First, there is the obvious starting place: your local Fabric store or department store that has a fabric section. You can find many kits at these stores or instruction manuals that will guide you toward your next project. Some of these will come with your yarn and some will just tell you the type and colors you should buy.
A second choice may be the internet. There are many sites that caters to knitting and knitting projects. These sites even post complete instructions to many projects. Plus, if you don't find what you are looking for there are generally members of these sites that can help you.
A third choice may be a craft mall. Most craft malls will have many knit pieces on sale. Many of the sellers are actually the people who did the knitting in the first place. They can advise you on how to create certain projects and may even sell the supplies to get you started.
A fourth choice for finding ideas is through knitting magazines. These are sold at most book stores and at most fabric stores. You can also subscribe to most of these and have them delivered right to your mailbox in plenty of time to prepare that next big holiday project.
Finally, you can come up with ideas through friends and through shopping. Friends can give you ideas and if they are knitters, as well, they may offer you instructions on some of their fun creations. How can shopping help you find ideas? Simply put you shop, you look, and your brain begins forming ideas. It can sometimes be as simple as that.

You may want to invest or consider knitting your own bag, to store your current project. Then you can take it with you during those long car rides, long waiting times at the doctor's office, etc.
Of course, what you make while knitting is not as important as to whether you are enjoying yourself and what you are making. Remember knitting is suppose to be a relaxing activity.
